Welcome to Canine Controversy! We're a street dog roleplay set in the streets of the fictional city of Cairoco. Here on the site you can find lots of active members to roleplay with, along with friendly staff who are always open to suggestions or questions you might have. We hope to see you around soon!
New Skin!
As you can probably see, we have a new skin! I hope you like it, but if not, I'm going to try and make it so you can switch back to the old one without much hassle. This requires some technical shenanigans that I first need to master/apply, so you might have to wait a few days first. ^.^ <3 Vixxy
Member clearout!
Hopefully you all got my PM about this sent over two weeks ago - all old members who haven't logged in in over a year have been deleted, as this should help the site load a little faster. I've done my best to avoid deleting members who have been posting recently but have remained invisible for so long. If you're a returning member after a whole year and want your old account back, if you re-register with your same username it should update your old posts to be written with your new account, and send me a PM if you want your experience points back, and just generally try to restore your account as well as I can. To put it into perspective, over 1,100 accounts were deleted! <3 Vixxy
Weather Moderate snowfall covers almost the entire city as winter returns to the lands once again. The temperature is often cold but never unbearably so, and for the well-prepared dog the weather could almost be enjoyable.

Icarus Fresh on the scene, Icarus is ripping up the town with her two characters, front man Icarus and good guy Zuuro. She's often in the cbox and tends to carry a rather nice conversation, however full of innuendos it may be. Between her activity and her wit she's earned her spot and deserves some recognition.
Cash Recently ascended to supremacy of the Lords of Debauchery (Plus One Chick), Cash has been making his mark in Cairoco City. After a random fling two Springs ago, he finally managed to get the girl of his dreams, Kjara, and totes his son Bank around with him. Hosting a party at the Office Building, he's the front man and the big man, and it's his choice who's in and who's out. Full of charm and with an eye catching red gleam, he's the 'it' dog in town.

Someday I will understand
She padded silently and quickly, her face contorted into a silent frown and her eyes refusing to look back. She knew she was being followed, and it rubbed her the wrong way. She tried to forget it, to just pretend she was alone. But she wasn’t. Even if she didn’t look back, she could hear his chubby paws stomping the hard pavement, the soft pants. He had kept up with her all day, but was now starting to tire and lag behind. He wouldn’t be able to follow her for much longer, and yet the pup persisted, huffing and puffing and struggling to move faster on his short chubby paws. Alyth, much more slender and graceful, proceeded with a quick and efficient step, but finally stopped when the chubby steps ceased.
He had sat down, blue eyes staring at her helplessly, pleading. He was panting and exhausted, and his legs had started to ache. With an exasperated sigh, Altyh stopped, turning around to face the pup with a stern frown. However, the frown escaped suddenly when she saw him, panting and tired, watching her with those big blue eyes and waving his tail miserably. She walked over to him, nuzzling him for moment, feeling some strange affection for the little bundle of fur, however inconvenient he could be, most of the time. Right now, for example. “I told you to stay with your grandma.” She said, soft but accusing. What could she do? One day, she had been free and wild, and now, she had this nasty pup following her around. And it wasn’t just him, either.
She sighed, troubled. How had this happened? She had loved him so much, more than she thought she could stand. But what had he done? She had been so certain he was the one, the one everyone always talked about and the one everyone was searching for. She’d been left with only the puppies to looks after, and yet no will to do so. They were a pain, a really big one, with their needs and what not. Alyth was grateful for Aidith’s tender patience, for her understanding, her help dealing with the kids. And yet even such a thing didn’t bring her complete peace, and Aidith’s blue gaze and unnerving, making Alyth’s smile tremble uncertainly, making her feel defenseless. Her mother knew something was wrong. Aidith could see right through Alyth’s charade, she gazed at her with those knowing eyes, and Alyth just prayed she didn’t know what was wrong, just that something was wrong.
Oh, so many thoughts ran through her mind, making her feel weak and uncertain. She had lived a pretty happy life, and she had ruined it somehow. All her life she had known what she wanted to do, who she was. Now she didn’t know. She didn’t want to think about it. She had other things to worry about, like Andrei. He had not moved, only watching her silently. The little pup did not understand what was wrong with his mom, or why her face had acquired that strange expression. He could feel she was troubled, but could not comprehend why.
“C’mon. Your siblings should be playing in the park or something.” She certainly hoped they were. If they weren’t, then they could be anywhere in this goddamned city, and with the folk that you could find in it, that was not a good thing. It would be her fault too. Picking up the pup by the scruff of his neck, as gently as she could, she padded on. He was quite light, quite small. Even if he was big for his age, she found it very easy to carry him. However, her gait still changed to adjust to this new package and it’s weigh, and she did not like having him in her mouth in such an awkward fashion. Still, she couldn’t leave him all alone.
Soon she reached the park, letting Andrei fall softly in the soft spring grass. The pup looked up at her with a smile and a wagging tail, and yet his expression turned serious when he noticed the troubled frown in his mother’s face. He was too young to understand what worried her, but he knew something was wrong with this creature; he could sense her troubled mind and could tell something was not right, not right at all. “Why don’t you search for your siblings?” Sometime he unnerved her. He would just gaze at her with those big innocent blue eyes, and that face that was so similar to Stitch’s face, in a puppy version, and in a scar free version. She still loved him.

SINGING ENDLESSLY ON SUMMER NIGHTS, FEEDING FLAMES & HALLOWEEN FRIGHTS A CLAN OF GYPSIES COMES INTO VIEW, SINGING & DANCING ALL THE WAY THROUGH
The sunday afternoon had settled well around the fourth hour after noon, and an orange haze filtered the dusty oxygen. Distant mountains were traced in an opaque miasma of violets and navys. Thalassa sat behind the rusty wired fence that lined the majority of the park, watching the setting of the massive star. She was in a thick cloud of daze as well, entranced in the panaromic view. It was beautiful to her - regardless of whether or not she was color blind, she knew what laid out there in the wilderness of Canada. Though, as her imagination began to flicker a light of adventure, a more familiar resource caught her attention: mother and brother. A smile widened on her expression and she turned tail to waddle over to her littermate and her dame.
Mother, Andrei! She shouted excitedly, although it would have been preferred if grandmother had came to the park with them, but Thalassa still loved her mother to pieces. The retriever bitch nuzzled her lethargic brother and then her orange-tinted mother. What'cha guys doin'? Her wide, bug-like pools of chocolate brown looked to her relatives, curious as to what they were doing at the park. Wisps of feathery obsidian lock strayed from her coat as the spring wind rustled it somewhat, the anxious puppy searching for a response from either of them. Thalassa then lowered her haunches to the ground, banner continuing to wag feverishly.
Thalassa looked to her husky-looking brother for a moment, cocking her skull to the right as she examined him. He didn't look much like her at all, and it intrigued her: what did father look like, then? Alyth hadn't brought their biological father around from what she had remembered, and Thalassa wondered if Andrei looked like the infamous Stitch Zhu. You's okay, bro-der? Her puppyish slang sounded cute, and it was laced with her natural shyness and timid-ness. Her brother was handsome, so father must be handsome too.

Had his legs not started to ache, he would have run to greet his sister, however, what with the bothering pain that rendered him unable to walk briskly, he was reduced to slowly walking over to where she was sitting, leaving whatever she had been doing (if she had been doing anything that was) and coming to greet them with as much excitement as his. It didn’t make Andrei particularly happy however, watching her bounce easily while he felt he could barely move. It was true; his legs didn’t hurt much, just a bothering sensation, but it still made him slow and stupid. He was the man, after all. He was supposed to be stronger, why was it him that got these aches? Who knew? He nuzzled his sister affectionately, his tail wagging. “Thalassa! What were you doing?” If he thought of something else, like his sister, and didn’t move, he could ignore the pain in his stupid extremities. That worked well. She then asked what they were doing, and before Alyth had the chance to do or say anything, Andrei spoke. “I was following Mom all around the city! We walked and walked and walked and I have no idea what we were looking but we found it, I hope!” Andrei looked at his mother anxiously, trying to find an answer. But Alyth was always like that, feverishly searching for something, but never telling him what or why, and never telling him if they’d found what she was looking for at the end of the day. Alyth looked at him with a hard gaze, eyes narrowed ever so slightly and jaws tight. She hadn’t liked what he’d said. But he didn’t take him back, and smiled mischievously. And just like he’d expected, she turned around, pretending to be very interested in a tree. With a triumphant grin he turned to his sister.
Seeing her daughter was okay was a small relief in her slightly concerned mind, so nothing had happened to her, everything was okay. In fact, if she forgot to a moment what had lead her to this situation, and all the troubles the two pups brought with them. Andrei alone was a pain to bear, with all his questions and his little jokes. She hated him when he did that, and there was nothing but bristling anger when she glared at him, but instead of doing what a pup should do, and apologizing or just shutting the hell up, he grinned! Alyth could feel anger bursting up at such insolence, and god knows what possessed her to sit down immobile, her whole body tense. Perhaps only the reminder of what might happen, accidentally. That one time had ended up in murder, and she sure as hell didn’t want to hurt him. Even if he deserved it. "He’s fine. Just tired, is all.” Alyth made herself calm down, smiling softly at her lovely daughter, and bending down to lick her head affectionately. Thalassa was a good kid.
Andrei looked at his mother, a little bewildered. While he had learned not to make much of a fuss when his legs hurt just a little, mom was completely ignoring him. But why?
Alyth ignored her son’s bewildered gaze, she knew about his strange leg problem, and had witnessed many time when the pain was so much for the pup that he suffered through it all. However, surely he could learn to bear with some minor pain, and she didn’t want Thalassa getting worried about her brother when really he was not feeling that bad. Surely if he stood up and stretched those long legs of his, he’d feel better. “Why don’t you two go and play?”
Why? Because his legs were aching, that was why! He didn’t want to play. He just wanted to wait until his legs felt better. The scorn she’d shot to him was returned in equal measure, his blue eyes glaring. How dare she make him look like this? Now he had to play, because otherwise he’d just be a pussy, or not a man. And he was the man in the family! Grudgingly, he smiled at Thalassa and stood up, rather clumsily. He wagged his tail, trying hard to make that ache to go away. Sometimes, it just went away if he forgot about it. Maybe if he played, it would go away. Hopefully, it would just disappear.
