Welcome to Canine Controversy! We're a street dog roleplay set in the streets of the fictional city of Cairoco. Here on the site you can find lots of active members to roleplay with, along with friendly staff who are always open to suggestions or questions you might have. We hope to see you around soon!
New Skin!
As you can probably see, we have a new skin! I hope you like it, but if not, I'm going to try and make it so you can switch back to the old one without much hassle. This requires some technical shenanigans that I first need to master/apply, so you might have to wait a few days first. ^.^ <3 Vixxy
Member clearout!
Hopefully you all got my PM about this sent over two weeks ago - all old members who haven't logged in in over a year have been deleted, as this should help the site load a little faster. I've done my best to avoid deleting members who have been posting recently but have remained invisible for so long. If you're a returning member after a whole year and want your old account back, if you re-register with your same username it should update your old posts to be written with your new account, and send me a PM if you want your experience points back, and just generally try to restore your account as well as I can. To put it into perspective, over 1,100 accounts were deleted! <3 Vixxy
Weather Moderate snowfall covers almost the entire city as winter returns to the lands once again. The temperature is often cold but never unbearably so, and for the well-prepared dog the weather could almost be enjoyable.

Icarus Fresh on the scene, Icarus is ripping up the town with her two characters, front man Icarus and good guy Zuuro. She's often in the cbox and tends to carry a rather nice conversation, however full of innuendos it may be. Between her activity and her wit she's earned her spot and deserves some recognition.
Cash Recently ascended to supremacy of the Lords of Debauchery (Plus One Chick), Cash has been making his mark in Cairoco City. After a random fling two Springs ago, he finally managed to get the girl of his dreams, Kjara, and totes his son Bank around with him. Hosting a party at the Office Building, he's the front man and the big man, and it's his choice who's in and who's out. Full of charm and with an eye catching red gleam, he's the 'it' dog in town.

She was like a white wraith, an outcast from the shadows of hell. And yet when you set eyes upon her you did not see a heart of darkness and despair, you saw a heart of light and gold. She was a dog that had gone through the pain of loss and heartbreak at a sickeningly young age, and yet she was a dog that saw no evil, only the good of things. She knew the evil was there, but she chose to ignore its anonymous presence. There was no room in her heart for hate or blood filled thoughts of revenge or murder. She was intelligent and beautiful, bearing the scars of battle and emotional strain upon her body, and yet she had not the ability to percieve hate, or disdain for her species. This gave her the image of an angel, or herald from the skies you would say. Dressed in the purest white with large black splotches across her shoulders and flanks, an ebony bonnet encircled her chisled features. She was a femme that could bring out the maternal instincts in even the sharpest fighter, the rudest tongue, the darkest mind. And you'll never know what hit you.
She did not do these things on purpose, she didn't try and she did not plot against the city as others did. She was herself and herself just happened to make the right choices. Was it luck that bound this vixen to a life of friendship and love? Was there some invisible gaurdian hovering over her head that bore away the clutches of hate and darkness? One would question these theories vigorously, and find no answer. For there was not an answer to be found.
What was the point in hating when there is forgiveness?
These thoughts ran through her young mind as she lay quietly at the edge of the pier. Staring down at her reflection on the water, the gently lapping substance mirrored her true self, her chaotic thoughts and ideas of keeping herself hidden. A creature like herself was no welcome in a city so over-run with destruction and collision courses. Not even the rebellion would stand for her way of life, it was just to carefree. And whats worse is that she didn't thing twice about it. She had no real purpose in life, once upon a time she'd dreamed of leading one of the great packs, or turning one of them into a weapon of good.
Those were dreams that had long since deserted the black and white female as she rode her third year of life.
After the accident where her mother brutalized her, and she met Eden. Her perception of things around her had changed, especially after her mother died. Drizzt had never been given the chance to meet up with her gaurdian, to apologize for failing her mothers wishes, for never living up to what her mother had been, or wanted her to be. Drizzt was a failure to life in those times, and now she couldn't really see herself being much better.
A seagull squealed above her head, causing her to lift her eyes from the water and to the azure expanse above. It was probably a few hours after noon, the sky was beginning to darken, but light still lived. She should probably be heading out soon, but the spot she lay in was comfortable, even if on the cement. And it seemed to be a good spot for thought...she wondered how many other dogs had layed or sat in this very spot and contemplated their lives. Was it many? or none at all? Perhaps every dog had their own personal spot by the canal.
"I suppose this one is mine then."
She aloud, but to herself. Having not seen or heard any other canines in the area. She was a little skeptical that the day had not produced more activity.

Circe most definitely hadn’t been here before. It was a strange place, she felt that much – unlike the wild, unadulterated rives that pounded through the mountains, cutting deep, rugged paths into the solid rock face, the water down far below her feet only pulsed silently by, politely staying within the confines the humans had made it. The lands outside of the city had long been an interest of Circe in her short life, and so often she found herself there it felt strange to be back in the city again. Cairoco hadn’t changed, of course; it was becoming increasingly obvious that the city would just keep on going, whether you were there to keep up with it or not. It was both reassuring and disconcerting, and Circe tried not to think about it too much.
Sighing softly, she brought her head back up to the softly dimming summer sky, closing her eyes for a moment contentedly before continuing her path along the canal, her lanky legs pacing forwards with almost clockwork regularity. It was quiet here, at least. There were some parts of the city where you couldn’t hear yourself think for the hustle and bustle of dogs and humans alike, but every now and then you could stumble upon somewhere like this, where most people never visited. She didn’t know why – it was pretty enough! Circe loved areas with a kind of natural beauty about them. It was so much easier to pause and relax there, she guessed.
Up ahead, a slumped black and white figure by the shoreline gradually managed to grab her attention. As she drew closer and closer with each step, more and more features of the strange started to make themselves clear. Circe hadn’t met anyone new in a long time, and was starting to miss the company of others in that strange way that quiet, mostly solitary being did. She almost glided as she walked over to the dog, trying her best not to make a sound on the cobbled streets, before she finally stood within hearing distance. “What’s yours?” She suddenly piped up, her voice sounding unexpectedly loud in the quiet street, with only the constant sound of water running beside her to accompany the abrupt statement. Circe had never quite gotten the hang of privacy or other dog’s reluctance to talk to her, and so the question seemed perfectly reasonable to her. She sat down promptly and perked her ears forwards in anticipation of a reply, a cool kind of concern and interest shining in her eyes.

She shuddered languidly and quietly rested the tip of her jaw on the edge of the pier. Staring down at the slow moving water, momentarily casting her gaze to the cement wall on the other side of the rideau. Her ears slanted lazily back and forth, her nostrils flared with the effort of breathing before she peacefully closed her eyes. The world nothing but a haze of noise and colors for her to block out of her miserable mind. She was unused to be so inactive and just so bluntly solitary in her ways of life. She was used to, no enjoyed! having the pleasures of friendship at her paws. But for the last two years she'd been forced to suffer the painful lonliness that gripped her heart now.
it was unexpected to hear the crush of fallen leaves beneath a weighted object, most definitely a paw. Drizzt did not lift her head, did not raise her eyes to look upon this new addition to the scenery. Instead she gave a chaste inhale of the new scent that wafted on the breeze. Her fur rippled with delight at her discovery, it was a pup! Not an over-bearing male intent on seizing her mind and soul, not a slender beauty who wanted her dead for reasons unknown. She'd had run-in's with these situations far two often in the past few years, it was a slight shock to her senses to find the aroma of a young pup at her door.
It was here that the prostrate vixen slowly departed her crown from the ground. Blue eyes glowing gently in the remaining sunlight as she gazed at the other canine a few feet from her.
Drizzt gave a visible gasp of surprise when the youth opened her jaws and produced an obnoxious bark of curiosity. The three year old mix let the fur along her spine ruffle a little, her ears fell back in a defensive and slightly annoyed stance before she curtly replied.
"It is not kind to so startle those unsuspecting."
Her way of speech had always been on the pampered side, even if she herself was naught but a measly cast off. She would not blame the inexperienced youth if she didn't understand the word choice.

It had been a long time (too long, perhaps) since somehow had pointed out one of Circe’s bad habits, and she wasn’t quite sure how to react. She spent most of her time doing one thing or another to annoy someone else without quite realising it – staring at them a little too intently, waking them up from sleep just to talk – and it had just become an ingrained part of her personality these days. Her eyes widened a little in surprised and she flinched backwards, unsure what to say and unable to tell if this stranger was genuinely upset with her or not.
“Uh, sorry, I…” She replied, stammering a little and contemplating just getting up and carrying along her way. But a large part of her wanted to talk to this female still, just have a little company again after being alone for so long, and so she remained sitting – although a little more cautious now than she had been before. “I’m Circe. What’s your name?” She continued, trying to sound as pleasant as possible. Being around older dogs like this always reminded her of her half-brother, Zeus II, who had become the official caretaker of her and her siblings. He was a good of a parent-substitute as she could hope for, but she hadn’t been in contact with him for a long time now. Other dogs that were older instantly brought to mind images of parents to her, whether they liked it or not (and it was usually the latter). Shifting the weight on her paws anxiously, she looked back at the female and awaited an answer. Hopefully, she’d understand more about how the dog was feeling soon.

Drizzt stared intently at the younger pup, evaluating the myriad of emotions that fleeted across her young features within a matter of seconds. A chaste smile parted her lips as she briefly remember being the same way, before all the bad things happened. The scars on her fact morphed to match her look of forgiveness as she suddenly lifted her torso off the ground. Setting up her fores like pillars to hold her weight, claws digging into the measly dirt and cement grip. She unfolded her tail from around her legs and let it hang free fom confinement, now she was settled for conversation. A much better way to converse.
She couldn't honestly remember the last time she'd spoken to a dog as young as this one. Probably when she was this dog...Circe's? age was the last time. Aside from that she'd been plagued by the constant attentions of dogs older than her or near her own age. Which wasn't that far away from those times so long ago. She had only just turned three with the coming of spring, she no right to legitamately call herself matured until she'd aged through time a few more years.
Drizzt believed that time made up for wisdom.
She looked down at the brownish tan femme, she was indeed far younger than Drizzt herself. But was plenty old enough to have a compacted mind-set of her own, her own way of thinking. She was slender and sinewy, giving off the appearance of someone who could run fast and easily without problem, who could dodge and avoid things, jump and do tricks. Her eyes were young and starstruck with varying emotions from; fear to worry, from worry to curiosity, from curiosity to worry, from worry to hope. It was like watching a movie of herself on a different screen. It was...entrancing, but instead of letting herself be drawn in, she drew upon the knowledge that this pup had training with manners.
After being rebuked the youth had immediately withdrawn with an apology, and now waited for some sort of consent to forgiveness.
"Do not worry, I am not angry, just startled...My name is Drizzt, Circe. What brings you to the harbor this day?"
She spoke, easily, casually, and yet her voice threatened to waver. So unused to talking to a canis of this age that she was unsure whether she could control herself.

Circe couldn’t help but flinch slightly as the female suddenly got up and moved a little closer, but the words that flowed out of her mouth soon reassured the pup that she would probably continue to not be harmed, if she played her cards right. It was both exciting and a little scary to be in the presence of someone she perceived to be a potential threat, and regardless of how far from the truth this may be, it was becoming cemented in her mind as her fantasies of the world around her so often did. Head in the clouds, feet not quite on the ground she remembered hearing, but she wasn’t quite sure where from.
As usual, she didn’t really have an answer to why she had ended up in the place she did. It was a query put forwards by any dog when they saw another in an area that seemed quiet, or at least unappealing, and Circe had yet to think of a satisfactory answer on any occasion. “I don’t really know, my feet just kind of took me here.” She replied, shrugging her shoulders feebly and looking back towards the water she had walked besides before, which was just about visible over the pier if she craned her neck slightly. Part of her wanted to go swimming, but even her wistful head was pretty sure it wouldn’t be wise. “What about you? Were you waiting for someone out here?” She asked, assuming as she often did that this dog would have a family, a mate, maybe some kids to come meet her in a while. It was an image she had for most canines she met, no matter how far from the truth it often was. The mishaps, tragedies and choices of others that stopped them from starting a family hadn’t quite reached her yet, and she assumed that everyone else, like her, had someone that would ultimately be watching their back, if she asked for help.
