New Skin!
As you can probably see, we have a new skin! I hope you like it, but if not, I'm going to try and make it so you can switch back to the old one without much hassle. This requires some technical shenanigans that I first need to master/apply, so you might have to wait a few days first. ^.^ <3 Vixxy
Member clearout!
Hopefully you all got my PM about this sent over two weeks ago - all old members who haven't logged in in over a year have been deleted, as this should help the site load a little faster. I've done my best to avoid deleting members who have been posting recently but have remained invisible for so long. If you're a returning member after a whole year and want your old account back, if you re-register with your same username it should update your old posts to be written with your new account, and send me a PM if you want your experience points back, and just generally try to restore your account as well as I can. To put it into perspective, over 1,100 accounts were deleted! <3 Vixxy
Weather And with a devastatingly cold winter and a perfect spring, an unbearable summer is of course the only option left available. Temperatures rest almost entirely in the upper and lower 90's and there is little to no rain. The heat is a constant drain on the energy of creatures already suffering.

Spook
Spook, one of our newest Moderators!, has literally been a godsend to Canine Controversy. Without her charisma and insane roleplaying skills, we wouldn't have as great a place as we do. She's been known for ruling such packs as the Rebellion with the famous Admiral Aubrey and has been long deserving of her new position.
Rhode King Douchebag Rhode recently remade 'a' Mafia because he was bored and couldn't think of a better name, just after valiantly wrestling the lands from not-there Terez. He recently did the wild thing with Sharpshooter, Empress of the Regalia, and proceeded to become a terrible father just like everyone predicted. Sentenced to look like he got frisky with a chainsaw for the rest of his life.

The Jar Ever heard the phrase "leave it in the jar by the door"? It means leave your problems 'outside' if you’re going to 'come in'. So essentially, this is a rant board. A place for people to vent, out of public view, so they don't take their problems IC. So, if you're going to go IC, please leave it all in the jar by the door. Cheers.

Packs
Abandoned Warehouse An old abandoned warehouse by the docks once used to hold cargo. Boxes and crates are still found piled up in there. The dogs have pulled old bolts of cloth and pillows from some of the crates, and used them to make massive bed area.
Office Building An old office building on the 'wrong side of town'. It was abandoned a long time ago when the business when under. Most of the windows are broken, and the doors boarded up - Except for the back door.
The Wolfstaffel HQ
Notice: This board is the secret headquarters for the pack of 'Jericho Hyde'. With their identity kept hidden from the rest of the city, they reside here under the guise of the Wolfstaffel. Any trespassers on this land should be prepared for a fight!
The Cemetery Behind the cemetery is a wooded area with a muddy creek and overgrown ferns. The Cemetery is rarely visited, because a new one was built across town.
Junkyard New strays tend to wander around here because there are lots of places to hide, and no one is around. Little do they know it’s dangerous - This is where all the alpha dogs looking for pack members come... Lots of alpha dogs in one place is bad news.
Hatley Park An old, overgrown park. People rarely come here. The basketball court is old and rusted, and the grass is tall and untidy. During fall, a carnival visits the park and sets up stalls here for the season.
Metropolitan Area (3 sub-boards) The Metropolitan Area is an enormous paved place, surrounded by trees and filled with restaurants and stores. There is a huge market place where the city goes shopping, and further back China Town can be found. The area also has alleys here and there, which includes Fatcat alley.
The Clock Tower Aged with more years than one could remember, the clock tower is anything but safe. The clock no longer works, and the building seems as though it will fall apart at any minute. Protesters call it a landmark and refuse to have it knocked down. For now it stays, idle and neglected - Literally, left to the dogs.
The Subway Concrete stairs lead down underground to the subway. Occasionally the rumble and roar of a train going by can be heard. Graffiti, posters, and flyers plaster the walls - And at around 5:00, the platforms are full of people.
Rideau Canal A clean-water canal running through the city. Along the river banks are sidewalks, benches, and train tracks. Small boats occasionally use this passageway, but it’s mostly out of use.
Underground Kennels (3 sub-boards) On the street, it looks like a normal apartment building, but those who used to live there were actually part of a dog fighting league. Underneath the building are vast kennels, pits, and fighting rings. The dog fighting league is very much alive again, so the threat of being captured on the streets is becoming a real threat to the canines of Cairoco once more.
The Sewers Once in full use, the sewers have gone into disrepair since the city started a newer septic tank system. The main entrance was boarded up, and the tunnels forgotten. The rats have made the labyrinth their home, eating all of the trash and waste to feed their rapidly growing population. There is a large center room where all of the tunnels connect that has a single manhole, giving off the only light in the tunnels.
Old Barn An old, dilapidated barn, partially filled with old hay rests in the center of this territory. Not much is in here - A few old posts, shovels, hay forks, and ploughing gear. The Regalia now lives in the barn, and guard it ferociously.
Mountain Ridge (2 sub-boards) A narrow, rocky trail winds up the steep mountain side - Grass and foliage sprout out form every crevasse, and the breeze is surprisingly warm. The view is breath-taking, but the circumstances are dangerous - Deadly even.
Rubble Pile Mostly a pile of rock and rubble where a sinkhole used to be - But construction workers used the pit to dump old rubble into. The dump crushed an underground stream, causing it to spurt onto land. Now it runs slowly beside the rubble pile. Hundreds of disfigured canines that were living below the ground were killed when the rubble was dumped... Some say their vengeful spirits still lurk here...
Bear Lake (2 sub-boards) After being finally cleaned up by the government, Bear Lake once again has been restored to the beautiful area it used to be. The waters are clear and finally drinkable once more, and slowly but surely the land around it is coming back to life. Endless forests surround the lake, so if you’re venturing here, always stay on the path.
Sandy Beach (1 sub-board) The actual name of the beach is Sancelia Beach, but since there is so much pure white sand, it’s simply been shortened to 'Sandy Beach'. The surf is calm, the sun is warm, and the sand is full of exotic and curious seashells. Thankfully, this beach is so secluded and difficult to get to, most humans won’t endure the hike.
Jack's Lumber Yard An old abandoned lumber yard. No one has worked here for years, and the broken machinery is now rusted and decaying. It’s an eerie place and there even seems to be blood staining the walls and floor, although whether or not it is blood is unknown. No humans enter here anymore, and now all that remains is the dilapidated equipment and a few rotting fallen trees.
Wastelands (1 sub-board) A seemingly endless stretch of dunes and desert flats located beyond Mountain Ridge. There are almost no trees, a few desert shrubs and rocky canyons are scattered across a sea of sand. Very little rain falls, and there is little chance of any dog surviving here for long. The days are scorching hot, the nights freezing cold, and there's little chance for survival in this hostile environment.
